River Bend Bistro Pushing for August Opening

K3 Construction Group is currently working on the restaurant's renovations.

The progress on the River Bend Bistro is moving slow and steady. According to a K3 Construction Group employee working on the restaurant's renovations Tuesday afternoon, the owners are pushing to open for business in mid-August.

When first announced, River Bend Bistro was expected to open in November. It was then pushed to spring 2013. In May, construction permits were posted on the window of the restaurant space. The couple is now working toward opening in August.

River Bend Bistro will take the place of the old Village Wharf at Hollin Hall Shopping Center next to BB&T. The owners, Bill and Caroline Ross, previously said the restaurant will seat about 74 and will also include a full bar.
