Construction on Sherwood Regional Library Entrance Expected to be Completed Soon

The columns at the entrance are being "clad in aluminum."

The front entrance of Sherwood Regional Library in Alexandria is currently not in use. Library goers are using the side entrance until construction on the columns at the front entrance are complete.

Branch Manager Denise Morgan said Sunday that the column at the front entrance are being "clad in aluminum" to prevent repainting in the future.

"This is being done as a part of the county's maintenance program," she explained doing a Friends of Sherwood Regional Library meeting. "The work is expected to be completed this week."

The library also experienced a leak in the first floor bathrooms closer to the main entrance of the building. The bathrooms are closed during maintenance and will be open next week, Morgan said. In the meantime, the bathrooms near the side entrance and on the second floor are still in service.
