ReplyAs I would expect from elected officials who think they always know best and talk in absolutes....." There is little doubt that online textbooks, like their cousins Kindle and Nook, are the way of the future, and we must adapt to embrace them."
Actually there is PLENTY of doubt, in reference to your absolutism quote above. Some children and adult learn better from a hard copy book they can touch, feel and read. Not to mention the issues you refer to about elwctricity, lack of knowledge....But books are dont help help enrich someones friends for IT contracts probably :o(

ReplyCan someone tell me the regular hours of the fairfax schools< mon and tues- fri? I heard that schools are cutting hours (or have) for suppossedly budget reasons. But I am not sure how closing school amd dumbing down education further really helps a budget, but I assume that teachers pay goes down the correspnding amoun right? (Sarcasm noted).
But as a parent of 2 young boys not yet school age, hours of time in school is very important to me. And someone said Mondays are now half days and others days have been cut --- which seems self defeating. Any one give me details? thanks

ReplyWow - I had no idea in our area the focus of our tax dollars was on the 'well off ' neighborhoods and that those of us on the 'east' side of Route 1 decided elections. What world do you live in Martin? The massive amount of people living in the housing projects and other places off route one are what fills are schools with over 50, 60, or 70%% of ESL kids who need extra attention and resources to get them semi proficient to be in class with people who speak english, recieve free lunch, and make up the majority of the focus from our area's tax dollars as well as decide the elections because they are simply the 99% monolithic block that the democratic elites use to get the votes to do their bidding and pokcet leing of their friends. Guys like Moran survive from the votes from these people who know nop better about how corrupt he is and just see the D that they have learned means more free stuff for them. It is sad.
Those of us who work, and own houses on the 'east' side of route 1 just foot the bills for liberal insanity with our property taxes and get not much in return for our tax dollars.

ReplyThank you Anita - I think that is exactly right. Once you leave the bubble of NOVA, and look around the state and country you really see things needs to be turned around. Time to move on to someone that has done that type of work.

ReplyHey Ryan - stop shortening the school days in Fairfax which waters down the education even more and makes people like me choose private school because children get an extra hour plus of more education per day.
Take an example from that bastion of conservatism in Chicago (note sarcasm) -- and EXTEND the school days --- union wrath be d@mned!

ReplyI would suggest you stop using drugs Peggy. It is killing your brain cell....But I do agree that all in VA should think twice. Either more of the same with unethical people like Moran and the last 3 years+ of high unemployment, and waste, fraud and abuse seen from the White Hosue and handing our tax dollars to his cronies (Solyndra, etc)...or change. I for one am glad real 'change' is coming!

Replyhey Greg -- nice to see your reply that Rep. Moronco sponsored the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge act. I guess he figured, wwhat the heck, who would be better to cosponsor this than the biggest perpetrator of the unethical practice himself. Maybe we can have bank robbers, not go to jail -- but get jobs as security guards at banks too. What a joke~

This is so terrible, hope and pray he pulls through...and wish those at scene would have had a chance to return the favor and save tax payers money on trial and housing this scum.
