Tell us what you want to see in the new condo's retail space.
The Huntington Club Condominiums will get a complete overhaul in the next few years, including retail space. The Huntington Club Condominiums are located at 2601 Indian Drive in Alexandria. The Comprehensive Plan amendment allowing for the redevelopment of the site was approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in February. The comprehensive plan amendment language allows for mixed use redevelopment to include residential, office, retail, and possible hotel with a total development of 2.5 million square feet. Huntington Club Condominium President Ross Irwin told Patch there is no fixed timeline for the project as of now. The Board of Directors is working towards an RFP late this year or in early 2014. This storefront previously occupied by Sun Sew Vac is located in the Mount Vernon Plaza shopping center at 7732-A Richmond Hwy. The storefront is located between Domino's Pizza and Chevy's in the Mount Vernon Plaza. The shopping center also includes Noodles and Co., TJ MAXX, Home Depot, and Starbucks. Sun Sew Vac closed its Mount Vernon Plaza location on Saturday and relocated next door. The new store reopened on Tuesday and is located next to the Gold's Gym on Richmond Hwy. What would you like to see at the HomeGoods location?
This storefront previously occupied by HomeGoods is located in the Mount Vernon Crossroads shopping center at 7800 Richmond Highway. HomeGoods opened in the spring of 2011 and will close for good on Jan. 12. The space used to be home to an A.J. Wright discount store. This former animal clinic space is looking for a new tenant. What do you want to see open here?
This storefront was previously occupied by Sacramento Veterinary Center, an animal hospital. It is located in the Sacramento shopping center in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway just north of the intersection of Mt. Vernon Memorial Highway. The business has been vacant since last year. There is plenty of parking and there are a few restaurants, including Vinito's Pizza, nearby. County officials and local business organizations are not aware of any plans for the site. This storefront was previously occupied by St. Clair, a former appliance distribution company. The building is next to the Kings Crossing development, which currently includes a Wal-Mart and a Chuck E. Cheese. The shopping center is on Richmond Highway across the street from the vacant Rite Aid. County officials and local business organizations are not aware of any plans for the site. This storefront was previously occupied by Asian Market in the Cooper Center shopping plaza. The shopping center includes Wingstop, CT Nails, and Bridals by Natalie. This storefront was previously occupied by TT&A Travel Agency in the Pear Tree Village shopping center, which also includes Solo Flooring, a dry cleaner, and more. The Best Western is close by, as is the Rent-a-Wreck. The shopping center is on Route 1 just north of where Mount Vernon Memorial Highway intersects with Richmond Highway. A Trader Joe's would be wonderful, but I agree with Carol, the Kathy's Corner Hallmark at Belle View is really missed! The closest Hallmark I can find is at Bradlee Shopping Center, not very convenient at all. We are also dearly missing our recently departed children's consignment shop, Kid's Again, in Hollin Hall.   more ›
