An 18-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed in the park Thursday morning.
The Fairfax County Police Department is currently investigating a strong-arm robbery and assault that occurred Thursday morning, according to a recent news release. An 18-year-old woman was jogging in the park around 11:14 a.m. near the South Kings Highway and Telegraph Road entrance when two women knocked her to the ground, assaulted her and stole clothing and a cell phone. The victim was able to escape from her attackers, sustaining minor injuries. The first suspect was described as Hispanic, 15 to 25 years old, 5 feet tall, heavy set and wearing all black. Police arrest a 40-year-old man Tuesday evening after he allegedly robbed Boost Mobile on North Kings Highway.
After a failed attempt Tuesday at holding up a North Kings Highway Subway sandwich shop, a man decided to try his luck at robbing a nearby Boost Mobile store. Around 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to Subway at 6230 North Kings Hwy., for a robbery report, according to Police Information Officer Lucy Caldwell. A man reportedly approached the cashier, implied a weapon and demanded money. After the Subway cashier refused to cooperate, the man left the restaurant and went to the Boost Mobile nearby. The man demanded cash and implied a weapon again, and the employee complied. The suspect then left and headed toward North Kings Highway. ACE Cash Express on Huntington Avenue was robbed Monday morning.
Fairfax County Police are investigating a robbery at ACE Cash Express on Huntington Avenue, where suspects reportedly cut a 3-foot by 2-foot hole in a roof, slid through it and robbed the business. Police were called to the business, at 2254 Huntington Avenue, on Monday at around 9:13 a.m. for a report of a robbery. An employee reported hearing a crashing sound, turned and saw a man pointing a pistol at her. The man grabbed her. A second man, also armed with a gun, demanded that the employee open the business’ safe. The men fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured. A woman was robbed while walking home Wednesday night at Fairhaven Avenue and North Kings Highway, according to Fairfax County police. The woman reported she was walking home at 10:45 p.m. when a man approached her from behind and then struck her in the face. He then stole her purse and ran from the scene, according to police. Fairfax County police are searching for a man who robbed a Fort Hunt pharmacy of prescription medications shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday. The robbery occurred at Rite Aid, 7968 Fort Hunt Road, in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center. No one was injured. Police said the man entered the store and handed a clerk a threatening note demanding prescription medications, including Dilaudid, a powerful painkiller. The clerk complied and handed over the medications, and the man ran from the store. He did not display a weapon. Police officers, a police helicopter and police dogs were used to help locate the man, who was not apprehended.
