One Northern Virginia Lottery Player May Have Won $105 Million

Ticket sold in Herndon goes unclaimed, so far.

One Northern Virginian may be celebrating more than our country's independence this weekend. According to the Virginia Lottery, someone bought a Mega Millions lottery ticket at a store in Herndon now worth...$105 million. (Update: The Virginia Lottery announced that the winning ticket was purchased at Giant Food, 1228 Elden St.) The winning numbers were 12-17-30-35-47 and the Mega Ball number 26. Virginia Lottery officials will announce today (Saturday) the name of the store where the winning ticket was purchased. The Virginia Lottery will pay the store a $50,000 bonus. The winner can take the full jackpot in 26 annual payments or a one-time cash option of an estimated $68.1 million before taxes. This is the seventh Mega Millions jackpot …
