Brenner's Bakery Closes After Serving the Community For Over Sixty Years

The family-run bakery once supplied burger buns to the original Five Guys

A Belle Haven community staple since 1946, Brenner's Bakery has closed. Originally boasting two locations—one in Arlington that closed in 2001 and the other in the Belle View Shopping Center—the end has come to the family dynasty. Three generations of bakers and their famous treats will now live on only in the community's memories. After the death of Grandma Brenner in 2005, the bakery changed hands and went downhill from there, Insider Pages reveals. You don't quite get what you pay for...

Primo Family Restaurant, located in the Belle View Shopping Center, has been a Belle Haven staple since 1988 and continues to provide Italian, Greek and American cuisine. Jim Nicopoulos purchased the restaurant in 2007, and his family and friendly staff have made multiple changes since. For lunch, expect a busy, yet friendly atmosphere and tables filled with regulars and office workers. Despite the rush, service was prompt and friendly, and the restaurant was well staffed. I ordered the lunch 'special' soup and half a sandwich ($6) that was, by far, the best deal on the menu. Expect minimal lunch options and dinner entrées from $9 to $22.
