Groveton Elementary has a new first grade teacher, Lauren Schweitzer.
Groveton Elementary School has hired a new first grade teacher, and she's ensuring her students love their first few weeks of school as much as she does. Lauren Schweitzer, a Pennsylvania native, has a bachelor's degree in Human Development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. Schweitzer wasn't always interested in teaching, but she's always enjoyed working with children. After several changes in major at Virginia Tech, she settled on something that would enable her to teach young children.
