WPHS Class of 2012 Q&A: Django Szilagi
New Orleans-bound honor grad plays in a local bluegrass band.
Django Szilagi, 17, is a West Potomac High School honor grad. Szilagi was born in New Orleans and will return to his birthplace to attend Loyola University New Orleans, where he will major in political science. Patch caught up with Szilagi to discuss his graduation speech and his music career. Tell us about your graduation speech. My speech is not cliché. It’s about the problems facing our generation. We have solutions to fix those problems. How long did it take to write? It took me a couple days. I started with a Dr. Seuss quote but realized everyone did that. What are some of your favorite memories of high school? I played in a bluegrass band, marching band, and swim and dive team. I just won prom king. It was a very good experience. …
