Alexandria Cupcake celebrates its grand opening this month
For many years, Adnan Hamidi dreamed about opening his own restaurant. This past January, Adnan and his girlfriend, Kathy, fulfilled that dream by birthing Alexandria Cupcake. The store technically opened in January 2010, but this month the co-owners are celebrating their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Located in a quaint townhouse in Old Town Alexandria, this cupcakery has seen business skyrocket over the past several months. Adnan and Kathy are already in negotiations to open a second location in the spring of 2011. Kathy researches and finalizing the recipes, while Adnan runs the kitchen, which includes the delicate baking and also managing their staff every morning.
