Police: Juvenile Charged with Assault and Drunk in Public

The following items are from the recent daily activity report from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department. Assault/Drunk in Public (red on map), 6:20 a.m., May 22, 7200 block of Richmond Highway, A 14-year-old boy was allegedly causing problems at a business. Officers responded and found the juvenile allegedly intoxicated. The juvenile, of Alexandria, was charged with assault on a police officer, petit larceny, and being drunk in public. Police: Suspects Arrested for Assault and DWI

Assault (red on map), 1:50 a.m., May 21, 6200 block of Richmond Highway, An employee was separating several patrons which were arguing. The employee was allegedly assaulted and the suspect fled. Officers located the suspects. Carlos Vasquez, 18, of Springfield, was charged with assault. Ginno Zambrano, 21, of Burke, was charged with assault and DWI. Police: Robbery, Burglary Reported in Alexandria

Robbery (blue on map), 12:55 a.m., May 20, 5600 block of Kathryn Street, A 25-year-old man reported two men attempted to steal his book bag. The suspects approached from behind and grabbed the bag. The victim was able to hold onto his property. The suspects fled and the victim was not injured. Police: Alexandria Man Charged with Malicious Wounding
