Volunteers and Huntington residents will begin passing out informational handouts to encourage people to vote "yes" for the Storm Drainage Improvements Bond.

Members of the Huntington community will begin handing out flyers Saturday to remind people to vote “Yes” for the Storm Drainage Improvements Bond. The bond will fund a levee to prevent repeated severe flooding in the area. Alan Ruof, the floodwall coordinator for Huntington Community Association, said people just need to be reminded about the bond with Election Day right around the corner. “It’s an informational handout to remind people that they should vote on Nov. 6 to help Huntington,” said Ruof. “They can do this by voting yes to the Storm Drainage Improvements Bond. That year the beltway was widened and a new exit ramp was added for Rt1. As part of this construction the stream bed of Cameron Run (the main drainage stream that floods) was filled in and narrowed from 200ft wide in 2004 to only 90ft wide …   more ›

FCPS Requesting $252.75 Million in Bond Referendum

Passage would add to the $232.58 million approved by voters in 2009.

Fairfax County voters are faced with a $252.75 million dollar decision.  Included on the Nov. 8 general election ballot is a school bond referendum to fund Fairfax County Public School's 2012-16 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
