Mount Vernon District Supervisor Gerry Hyland got behind the wheel of his virtual bus tour for the 25th time on Saturday. The future of the district is bright, he said from Mount Vernon High School's Little Theatre, as he gave residents an update on the latest in economic development, transportation and community planning. "Lorton, all of a sudden is springing up like a flower," Hyland said. "With the metamorphosis of the Lorton Arts Foundation, the new schools…that area becomes one of the most exciting areas of opportunity in Fairfax County."
