Photos: 14th Annual Toast to Fashion Raises Funds for Campagna Center

The Junior Friends of the Campagna Center hosted its annual fashion show Thursday night.

The ballroom at the Belle Haven Country Club was transformed into a mini-market full of tunics, brightly colored baubles, and pastel bow ties at the Junior Friends of the Campagna Center's Toast to Fashion Thursday night. Now in its 14th year, the Toast to Fashion raises funds for The Campagna Center, an Alexandria organization providing programs to foster a positive environment for children and families. The following members were recognized for their dedication to the Junior Friends of the Campagna Center at the Toast to Fashion Thursday night: Vendors included Stella & Dot, Top it Off Accessories, the Hat Lady, and The Lucky Knot.

Belle Haven Country Club to Participate in Patriot Golf Day

The event occurs over the Labor Day weekend.

Belle Haven Country Club is one of nearly 200 golf facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region to host Patriot Golf Day activities over the Labor Day weekend and will collect donations for the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to the families of servicemen and women who have been disabled or killed in service to their country. Supported by both the PGA of America and the U.S. Golf Association, Patriot Golf Day offers a variety of activities that may include a golf scramble event, a visit from local veterans and their families or even a complimentary golf clinic by the facility’s PGA professional. 'Fall Into a Cure' Dinner to be Held at Country Club

The D.C./Virginia/Baltimore Chapter of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation will host the 4th Annual Fall Into A Cure dinner dance and silent auction Nov. 3 at the Belle Haven Country Club. The country club is located at 6023 Fort Hunt Rd. The event begins at 7 p.m. with the opening of the silent auction and cocktails, followed by a buffet dinner and dancing. Proceeds from the event will help to support the UMDF’s mission to promote research and education for the diagnosis, treatment and cure of mitochondrial disorders and to provide support to affected individuals and families. From Huntington-Belle Haven Patch: A Fairfax County police chase involving a female suspect began at Belle Haven Country Club and ended on Route 1 near Potomac Yard on Tuesday afternoon. The female suspect was reported to have driven around the country club grounds and appeared confused. The 13th Annual Toast To Fashion is the premier fundraiser for the Alexandria nonprofit.

On Thursday night, the Junior Friends of The Campagna Center's 13th Annual Toast to Fashion featured fashion, music and prizes—all for charity. Route 1 Police Chase Begins at Belle Haven Country Club, Ends Near Potomac Yard

A 'confused' woman slowly drove around clubhouse and along golf course for about 15 minutes before leading police on Route 1 pursuit into Alexandria.

A Fairfax County police chase involving a female suspect began on the grounds of the Belle Haven Country Club and ended on Route 1 near Potomac Yard Shopping Center in Alexandria on Tuesday afternoon. Police were called to the Belle Haven Country Club just after 2 p.m. after reports of a woman in a Toyota stationwagon driving around the clubhouse, according to FCPD Officer Don Gotthardt. Officers attempted to stop the woman, but the suspect exited, turning onto Fort Hunt Road and then driving northbound on Route 1 into Alexandria. "As far as I know there were two (police units) involved directly" in the pursuit, Gotthardt said. "And there's any number that could have followed but were not actively involved in the pursuit." Annual Fashion Show to Benefit Campagna Center Set for Thursday

The Junior Friends of The Campagna Center will hold their 13th Annual Toast to Fashion Thursday from 6:30-10 p.m. at Belle Haven Country Club. The annual event features a fashion show, marketplace, raffle, and cocktail reception. For the second year, ABC-7/WJLA’s Britt McHenry will handle emcee duties.
