Sports List: Wolverines Cruise to 70-51 Victory Over Lee Lancers

Every Monday we bring you our top five sports list

The thermometer has headed down near freezing, but winter sports are just heating up. Here's the top five sports stories from around the county: Three Lake Braddock wrestlers finish third at NoVa classic: Lake Braddock advanced six wrestlers into the placement round of the tournament and Rory Renzi (135), Jake Sage (140) and Cory Smith (171) all won their final match Saturday night to clinch third place. Robinson Rams roll past Fairfax, 96-68: The Robinson Rams trounced Fairfax 96-68 on Friday night by taking to a 21-point lead in the first quarter. The Rebels never made up the deficit and managed to pull within 10 only once.

With fall sports wrapping up the regular season and preparing for playoffs, there's been lots going on this past week across the county. Here's five sports stories we think you should check out: West Potomac Boys Win Region Cross-Country Meet: The Wolverines boys and girls cross-country teams both advanced to states Thursday after stellar performances at the Northern Region Championship. The boys took first with 78 points, and the girls took third with 108 points.
