Hey, I am a vendor interested in this event. I tried the email address provided and it doesn't work.Read More

Sorry Amber! Try it now; there was an extra slash and period in there.

The Supervisors need to make their power plays in line with state law and get out of the business ofRead More making decisions for parents.

I fail to see the logic of thinking the R’s have the high ground when it comes to corruptionRead More in VA. Given what is going on in the Governor’s mansion and the AG’s office right now, to assert that McAuliffe is corrupt is laughable. His strong support for women and their rights – not only reproductive rights but rights to equal pay for equal work, his pro-business stance, his reasonable transportation stance all speak to a reasonable man without the social agenda that his opponents are spouting. Certainly no one, even the R’s, can accuse either Northam or Herring of being corrupt. Please Virginia, let’s give Richmond back to reason – and leave behind the corrosive social agenda that has permeated this last administration.

Republicans claim the poster "TheRepublican" isn't a Republican because he talks about andRead More throws out opinions the Republicans would just as soon keep hush-hush. I don't know who they think they're fooling. All one needs to do is listen to Sarah Palin (now back on Fox), Michelle Bachmann, Ted Cruz, Louie Gohmert, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or pretty much anything that's on Fox and you can see where this guy gets his opinions. They're hardly secret. This is what the Republican party has become.

Your comments are so typical of a liberal mind who thinks he is smart and right and there is onlyRead More one answer to our problems. Ergo: everyone else is wrong, or stupid. And when you cannot use GOOD arguments, then you start insulting, right? So who is your voice of common sense: Chris Matthews? Andrea Mitchel? That ugly-bleached-blond named like a mineral (you see how I am using leftists tactics?). It is your standthat brings the discourse down, because you decided to put eveyr single Repub that stand fro something different at the bottom of your self-righteous world. You totally forget the center, the independents, the ones that are not associated to an ideology but to their open thinking and common sense. At least T.Ailshire (above) said something reasonable in much fewer words than you or your propaganda predecessor (Stallings). And at least Fox shows TWO sides of many, many stories, your friends at NBC invite solely those who gree twith them and preach to the choir (Check it out before you opine). N In summary: THAT is the typical fascim of mind that comes for the elitist liberals, as years of exposure have shown. If you dont agree with me, fine, but please: don't pretend common sense comes from you beause your pseudonym is 'The ANALyst'.

what a shame, the realtor thinks NOT having a conservation easement is a good thing.

"Songs of herons, cranes"? What kind of heron "sings"? what species of craneRead More has been seen there?

The police are great. I do not ridicule them nor do I wish to do so. This was a waste. The countyRead More officials need to have a more reasonable policy on use of expensive resources. For example, use a helicopter to look for the brutal muggers attacking humans on the pathways of Reston.

All pit bull owners should be forced, by law, to have insurance for this animal. This breed is knowRead More to be a ticking time bomb but it's not their fault, it's the owner that must be held accountable.
Stan L. June 18, 2013 at 04:35 pm
All pits are "ticking time bombs"? Really? In the 3+ years I've had sight hounds andRead More been in and out of dog parks in Alexandria, I've never seen a pit or pit-mix "go off"; nor have I seen any while walking in the neighborhoods get violent and attack.. I have however experienced first hand a black lab come into the enclosed dog park and as soon as it was off leash, try to chase down my greyhound completely unprovoked. I know it meant to do serious harm based on the teeth marks left in my hounds coat was wearing at the time (as it was late fall/early winter). It's not the breed that is the problem, it's the people that USE the breed for sport and train/force them to be aggressive. Here's an excerpt from the AKC.ORG website for the Bull Terrier "breed standard"... "Playful and clownish, the Bull Terrier is best described as a three year-old child in a dog suit. Given his muscular build, the Bull Terrier can appear unapproachable, but he is an exceedingly friendly dog, with a sweet and fun-loving disposition and popular in the obedience, agility and show rings"

The police on route 1 have allays been a threat to the community. Now they are running people over.Read More I love the mention of "not in a crosswalk" as if that's his fault.
Cookie June 12, 2013 at 02:06 pm
I saw the scene of the accident on Route 1. I am sure the officer didn't mean to strike theRead More pedestrian. Anytime you cross anywhere without using the pedestrian crosswalk you are risking your own life. Why anyone would not use one on Route 1 is beyond me. This particular area beyond the hill of SSC is dangerous. There is nothing on that side of road of interest for someone to be crossing the road. Another lawsuit for pedestrian stupidity.
T Ailshire June 12, 2013 at 06:31 pm
Well, yes, it is his fault if there's a crosswalk nearby that he failed to use. I'm consistentlyRead More amazed at those people for whom a few steps' convenience outweighs their personal safety.

extending metro rail all down route 1to prince william county would be the best thing ever it wouldRead More surely help with traffic congestion
Martin Tillett June 13, 2013 at 02:52 pm
This will be an opportunity to see if local and state and national government can truly cooperateRead More and work together. One critical factor will be to see if the county studies devising watershed restoration strategies and plans will be incorporated into any future re-engineering recommendations concerning Richmond Highway to fix all of the environmental degradation to our local watersheds. This planning process is the best opportunity to address these long overdue problems that are openly acknowledged by local, state and national officials but have been ignored for decades.

A metro line running down Route-1 or 95-S into Woodbridge/Prince William County has been desperatelyRead More needed for many years and that need only continues to grow as these neighborhoods become more popular.
