It shouldn't be illegal. If someone flashes their lights at me, I slow down even though IRead More don’t speed anyway. Isn't that the end result we are looking for? The police use illegal tactics all the time. Cops have told me that if they want to stop someone they just say they looked suspicious or weaved in their lane. How can you expect people to respect someone who acts no better than they do?

I live more to the west, Carroll County. Love to ride there, Frederick, Washington, southern PA.Read More D.C. is horrible! Happy I got to ride in Rolling Thunder though :) When I take a putt or a group does the same, we avoid the major highways like the plague..yes..even in Carroll. Thank you for your service to our country! I mean that sincerely.

Not at all surprising. It was just a matter of time before criminals recognized Kings Crossing as aRead More ripe opportunity--the design of this development welcomes crime, with no clear view of its businesses from Rte. 1. And to think that this piece of property at one time was slated to become a lovely park space surrounded by upscale mixed use development...but thanks to the trailer park behind the Walmart, we can maintain the low quality that defines South Alexandria’s Rte. 1 corridor and ramp up its crime profile. As if we needed a second Walmart on Rte. 1 and a series of new fast food restaurants. Good luck to those who venture to this development--expect more incidents like these to take place.

Too much crime going on in just one day these days. Here is a good safety application that willRead More allow you to be connected directly to the nearest 911, hospital and police as soonest whenever you are in trouble. For more info http://safekidzone.com/?a_aid=51b8ea0f4164a

Vincent Careatti, I see your posts and they are either about I-66 or Route 7. it seems you get offRead More the I-66 to get onto local roads when I-66 backs up. Does that make you want to use cut through and speed? Sounds like it to me. I want the police to keep an eye on you. Because of your cut through driving, you make it very unsafe for my neighbors children, the elderly and myself. Stay on your I-66 commuter traffic route and stay the heck out of places you don't belong. You are making things worst being there. You are the traffic many people don't want driving in their neighborhoods. You don't live there, don't visit or do business there, so you just don't belong there.

Part of the problem is the length of the traffic cycles. Miss the light and one can end up waiting 5Read More minutes to get going again, and in some cases have to go through multiple cycles to get through the intersection. In our society of impatience, people start doing other things like texting and reading email, then continue to finish up what they are doing once the traffic moves again. I see that every morning that I drive to work.

All this is simply proof that the regions police departments are not doing their jobs. All policeRead More officers are responsible to traffic duty when on duty. Most have an attitude to justify not doing this responsibly. Yet the death toll and injury toll is rising in every region across the nation. The last year's death toll was over 43,000. With serious injury's in the hundreds of thousands! And Fairfax is no exception. Most police officers think that they are supposed to get paid overtime on what is called 'auxilary' traffic duty assignments on $overtime$. And the dispatch offices are in on it as well. They get thousands of calls daily with traffic complaints directly involving improper Motor Vehicle Operator driving in any given area thru out Fairfax and most go ignored. Yet someone will call in a redundant call by comparison and the patrolling officers on duty will respond to it instead of the thousands involving even reckless driving reports! Bottom line? It is such gross negligence it is simply criminal in and upon itself! Emails. Written letters. Phone call reports about same being received about Motor Vehicle Operator small and big infractions and what is being done about it? A patrol officer will be sent out to investigate a kitty cat being stuck in a tree instead by dispatch, backed up by the on duty officer of the shift? And what is the departments sworn duty and oat to office and position? "To Serve and Protect". And what major subject issue is killing and injuring people more than any other? The Motor Vehicle Operator.
