Hey, I am a vendor interested in this event. I tried the email address provided and it doesn't work.Read More

Sorry Amber! Try it now; there was an extra slash and period in there.

extending metro rail all down route 1to prince william county would be the best thing ever it wouldRead More surely help with traffic congestion

This will be an opportunity to see if local and state and national government can truly cooperateRead More and work together. One critical factor will be to see if the county studies devising watershed restoration strategies and plans will be incorporated into any future re-engineering recommendations concerning Richmond Highway to fix all of the environmental degradation to our local watersheds. This planning process is the best opportunity to address these long overdue problems that are openly acknowledged by local, state and national officials but have been ignored for decades.

A metro line running down Route-1 or 95-S into Woodbridge/Prince William County has been desperatelyRead More needed for many years and that need only continues to grow as these neighborhoods become more popular.

It is about time. Where has SBX been on this matter for the past 6 years?
Kevin Shaw June 8, 2013 at 05:22 pm
I wish more outdoor seating establishments would do this, tired of smokers stinking up the greatRead More outdoors!
JS June 8, 2013 at 08:05 pm
Yay. It is about time. Hopefully other businesses will do the same to ban this disgusting habit.

AMEN! Agree Jennifer. We are the few on this page that agrees that Jack needed to move on. IRead More couldnt stomach to listen to his phoney fake attitude. So glad hes gone. I wish him well but it was time to go I loved Jimmy Alexander and Chili Amar but unfortunatley you had to listen to his lifes stories about his wife, kids and band. It was time for something fresh and funny. I enjoy the talk, its allot of funny stuff and they play music also. I was tired of the 10 same songs over and over. At least the new Bert show throws in some funny conversation. Have a Great Day Jennifer!!
Donna Brannan June 6, 2013 at 05:09 pm
Glad its over and Jack was forced to move on. I love the new show, Bert and his team.

Elly I was a bus driver for many years, and listened to Jack on the bus every morning. When Bert wasRead More on there, I was glad when he left. I never liked Bert. I liked Jack, Stacey Binn's Ode story's. When she left, it left a void. Now Jack has been pushed out. What a big mistake. Chilli on another station. My word. Bert is a worm! The program will go to nothing. A lot of us will not listen anymore. Where did they kick Jimmy? Things change and nothing stays the same, but come on, 24 years must stand for something. Couldn't you wait until it was 25? What a gip! ELLY

I totally agree with every comment here. I WILL NOT be listening to MIX 107.3 any more. What IRead More heard was immature and stupid. I had been listening to Jack and his gang every morning on my way to work for 20+ years. This is so disappointing.
Michael P. Burke June 13, 2013 at 07:57 am
Rumor has it, if you follow him on facebook, he might be staging a comback! He hasn't reallyRead More released any information yet, but he did elude to it!

Like others above, I had listened to the JD show for many years and find the new show irritating andRead More immature. But what I am really mad about is that the nation's capital is borrowing an Atlanta morning crew...do we really think that the listening audience in DC is interested in same type as the people in Atlanta. I didn't realize that they had not only fired JD and his crew, but syndicated the Bert Show - I was ready to give the Bert Show a chance thinking they moved here and were trying to establish themselves in a new market - how wrong I was when I heard them give away Braves tickets as a reward to a caller! Why do I want to hear about Braves games when I am a Nats fan! I was already missing Jack but now I am just disgusted that an Atlanta DJ is being billed as a DC morning show. I am done with the Bert Show - I will listen to 103.7 in the afternoon only..

please note, there is a dangerous pothole (very deep) that recently developed right in front of theRead More construction entrance (on Bosewell), obviously caused by this . . . it really needs repaired.

Still curious as to why it's taken more than two years to renovate this small space. In that timeRead More the Safeway in that center made the decision to expand, shut down, gutted the space, rebuilt it and reopened. And it's not just that Safeway is a big business. Snap Fitness was able to retrofit a former card store in a matter of months. For much of the time B&W has been under construction, it's been a real eyesore, with boarded up windows and missing masonry, giving that part of the center a run-down appearance.

"Born and raised in Baltimore, McCarty plans on commuting to the cafe." Good to know thatRead More he's not planning to live in the cafe!

Expand your Thai horizons, Ms. Porter: I urge you and all mourners of To Be Thai to try Thai GhangRead More Waan in Springfield, 7056 Spring Garden Drive, 22150, 703-866-6088. They are in the Brookfield Plaza, off Backlick Road. The owner's mother is a brilliant chef who sets greater store by cooking well than by catering to Western tastes. Yes, she will tone down the heat on request, but she won't pull her flavor punches. This is a sophisticated, urban cuisine, as opposed to specifically Northern or Southern Thai cooking. We used to be great fans of To Be Thai, but they became tired some years ago. Like Red Mei currently, TBT has produced generic Asian cooking in the last decade. Thai Ghang Waan will revive your interest in Thai cuisine.
sburbnite April 23, 2013 at 07:38 pm
They will be sorely missed! Not only was the food wonderful, but the owners and wait staff wereRead More always friendly and helpful. I've never been to Red Mei, but will definitely go there now. I can't help thinking that if they had been permitted to put a sign nearer the road, they would have gotten more customers. A bit of flexibility on the part of county regulators would have been helpful here. Goodbye, To Be Thai!

Several months ago someone said the rumor was they would move into the new 290-units Heights atRead More Groveton (Across from Giants, Beacon Center). Scratch that. Not to change the topic, but anyone heard what stores/cafes/restaurants will move in there? NC BBQ - ha, I'll dream on...

The fact there's no advisory (because, face it, people haven't seen a notice hundreds of times inRead More their lives) "poses a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served."?? I wonder how our bureaucrats figure that one.

I'd like to see a nice Hallmark Shop somewhere in this area (Cathy's Corner is greatly missed).Read More Also a Trader Joe's, as the one in Old Town is crowded. Maybe a butcher?
Adam Froehlig April 12, 2013 at 05:29 pm
As I recall from past Huntington Community Association meetings (not directly affiliated withRead More Huntington Club, alas), the community as a whole has indicated a preference for a coffee shop, and optimally some sort of grocery store.
ET1221 April 12, 2013 at 06:48 pm
A Trader Joe's would be wonderful, but I agree with Carol, the Kathy's Corner Hallmark at Belle ViewRead More is really missed! The closest Hallmark I can find is at Bradlee Shopping Center, not very convenient at all. We are also dearly missing our recently departed children's consignment shop, Kid's Again, in Hollin Hall.
