Love Mama's Kitchen ~ we have enjoyed everything we've tried there. If you are lucky enough to be there when the Lamb Shanks are one of the specials, get them, they are excellent!! The outdoor patio is very nice ~ would never know you are just off Route 1 . . .
Since Mamma's opened I don't cook so often! The Athenian Chicken is to DIE for and she will serve it over pasta so the wonderful sauce is enjoyed too. The gyros and meatball subs are great too! Lunch specials are within budget and the weekend specials always include some sort of seafood. Try it.... you'll like it!
Delicious pizza; kind of thin crust. A nice big pie for the price, too.
We love Mamma's Kitchen! The food is great. The service is great. The Greek food is very authentic - great moussaka and delicious baklava! We love the pizza, too. We're so glad it's here, since there are so few restaurants in the are that aren't chains.

I've lived in Alexandria for a number of years, and have always been a fan of new restaurants. Recently, I re-located to the Route 1 Corridor aka "Restaurant Chain Row" and was SO HAPPY to find Mamma's Kitchen. Not only is the food amazing, the portions are generous and the staff is friendly. I'm a big fan of their "garden" and patio areas which are unique to this hidden gem! Try them out...you WILL NOT be disappointed!
