West Potomac Seniors Volunteer in the Community

Students will participate in different SHOUT projects.

Seniors at West Potomac High School are participating in various Students Helping Others, United Together — or  SHOUT — projects. The students will volunteer in the community June 3-14, according to a recent news release.

SHOUT was initiated about three years ago by the WPHS class of 2010. The class of 2013 has about 200 participants this year. According to the news release, SHOUT projects provide students with the opportunity to perform a service by giving back to the community while also learning.

This year's projects for the class of 2013 incude helping teachers at local elementary and middle school, interning at area non-profit organizations and cleaning-up the watershed at Mason Neck State Park.
