Good Shepherd's 38th Annual International Festival

The festival raises funds and awareness for the Shepherd's Gate grant program.

Good Shepherd Catholic Church brought the Mount Vernon and surrounding communities together this Labor Day for their 38th Annual International Festival. Hundreds gathered under the big tents at on the church grounds to listen to music, enjoy foods from different cultures and play games.

Activities include ethnic dishes and drinks, live entertainment and children's games from noon to 6 p.m. There was also an Artisan row, bingo and a raffle with the grand prize of $10,000 cash.

The festival raises funds and awareness for the Shepherd's Gate grant program, benefiting non-profits supporting the poor and disenfranchised. Proceeds from last year's festival provided $28,000 for these groups.
