3 West Potomac Athletes Invited to Try Out for National Rugby Team

The student athletes are key players for the Wolverines varsity football team and the Fort Hunt Warriors rugby team.

Three more key players on the West Potomac Wolverines varsity football team have been invited to try out for the 2014 USA High School All American Rugby Team.

Max Nail, Josh Ransom and Kris Sheckles will join Darien Pickett at the winter camp Dec. 26-31 in Arizona.

Nail is a sophomore flanker for the Fort Hunt Warriors. Ransom and Sheckles are seniors at West Potomac who play center and prop respectively.

Camp in Arizona is scheduled for six days. If selected, Nail will represent the U.S. at the U17 (JV) level, and Sheckles, Ransom, and Pickett will join the U19 (Varsity) team in tournaments later in the year.

Currently, Ransom and Nail play inside and outside linebacker for the Wolverines and Sheckles plays defensive line.
