History of Microbrews at Sherwood Library

Local residents mostly know about Lorton's Workhouse Arts Center which preserves the heritage of the correctional facility built by inmates in the 1920s. What many don't know is that Lorton has another traditional craft a-brewing: beer!

Join us on Monday, April 28 at 7 PM at Sherwood Regional Library (703-765-3645) where Matt Rose, owner of Forge Brew Works in Lorton, VA, will discuss and explore beer history, hops and agricultural developments that are being used to provide exciting flavor opportunities in craft beers. Inspired by Amy Stewart’s book, The Drunken Botanist, Matt will help us look at how ingredients like hops, wheat, herbs, spices and other plants are used to inspire and create new recipes. Brewing has even changed how we are growing these plants to achieve certain taste characteristics. Join us for an evening of information distillation and fun!

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
