The winter holiday season can be busy and stressful for many of us. This year, why not let the Sherwood Regional Library help make life a little easier?

The winter holiday season can be busy and stressful for many of us. From decorating the home and preparing for overnight guests to purchasing gifts for loved ones, there’s a lot to get done. This year, why not let the Sherwood Regional Library help make life a little easier?

To get in the holiday mood, visit the library on Saturday, Dec. 1 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for our annual Holiday Open House. We’ll have fun craft activities for the kids and refreshments for everyone. As an added treat, local favorites the Heritage Harmony Singers will perform seasonal tunes beginning at 1 p.m. And, while you’re at the library, you can pick up some cookbooks or books of decorating and homemade gift ideas. You can also visit our second floor on Saturday to see what bargains our Friends are offering. Books make great gifts!

Once you’re relaxed and ready to shop, check out our class The 50 Best Websites for Shopping and Entertainment on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. Our Internet expert will take you on a tour of her favorite websites and even if you already spend time online you might learn something new. You can also get some tips for safe holiday shopping from Fairfax County’s Consumer Affairs Branch.

Do you like to read reviews and ratings before shopping for electronics or other gadgets? Consumer Reports magazine is one of the library’s most popular resources, but did you know that you can access Consumer Reports articles from home with your library card? You can view complete articles as well as the annual buying guide.

Whatever you need to get you through the holidays, we’re here to help. We look forward to seeing you at the Sherwood Regional Library!
