A New Year, A New You at the Library

Is this the year you accomplish some of your New Year’s resolutions? Here’s how the library can help:

1. Get rid of clutter: Do you love magazine subscriptions but hate the idea of those back issues piling up? The library now offers access to a number of digital magazines through a service called Zinio. Once you’ve downloaded a digital issue--to a computer, tablet, or smartphone--you can keep it forever.  Sample titles include The Economist, Rolling Stone, and Yoga Journal.

2. Get finances in order: The library has three online resources (Morningstar Investment Research Center, Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage, and Value Line Research Center) that will help you keep track of mutual funds and stocks. In addition, all three sites have education sections that provide articles and videos on personal finance. The library also has several books on finance and investing. Check our catalog or browse the shelves in 332.024.

3. Get healthier: The library has a large selection of exercise DVDs, from yoga to belly dancing to strength training. Also take a look at our book collection for titles on healthy cooking and exercise.

4. Learn a language: Check out Mango, the library’s online language learning resource. Mango offers more than 60 languages, including Arabic, Italian, and Vietnamese.
