West Potomac Wolverines Get New Football Coach

Former Penn State defensive lineman Jeremiah Davis to take over program rocked by controversy.

Jeremiah Davis, a former defensive lineman and 2004 graduate at Penn State, has been named the new football coach for the West Potomac Wolverines.

Davis, 29, comes to the job from his high school alma mater, , where he has worked as co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach since 2005, according to the Washington Post.

Davis will coach at a school where controversy swirled this spring when FCPS , a history teacher who steered the football program Henderson responded to an , but no reason was officially given for letting him go from the coaching position.

Come fall, the team will be without two players—quarterback , and Jon Henderson, a junior linebacker; both played for their father last season. The brothers transferred to  in Burke recently and plan to play football for the Bruins in the fall. Eric Henderson will remain as a history teacher at West Potomac High School.
