officials are warning of a scam that targets credit card information.
The scam is related to high school students and PSAT tests. There have been reports of a man calling to speak to parents informing them they signed up to receive study materials for the PSAT. The number is 571-223-0973 and the caller ID is College Board.
The man has informed parents he is going to send a DVD package pertaining to students taking the PSAT and indicates he needs a credit card to secure the DVD and that after 30 days the parent will be charged $59.
To the school’s knowledge, the College Board never initiates a phone or email conversation.
