Prom-posal: 50 Friends, a Horse and Other Creativity

Local students are getting creative in how they ask their girlfriends to prom.

Spring and summer are times of romance, and our friends over at Annandale Patch offered up this treat.

Annandale High School senior Paige Britton thought she was meeting classmate Justice Garrish's family for a picnic.

Instead she was treated to a musical extravaganza as friends and family reenacted  the big number from Disney's 2007 Enchanted. "I had no idea," Britton said about Garrish's plan. "I didn't know whether to stay standing there or move away. The whole thing was so surreal."

Of course, we had our own local high school romance tale in May, when West Potomac High School student Ian Thompson rented a horse and rode to his date-to-be's house. He had never been on a horse before—ever.

And then there was this one done through a series of road signs from Robinson Secondary School in 2012.
