Power Out at Belle View Elementary School

Elementary students being moved to West Potomac High School this morning.

The power is out at Belle View Elementary school, possibly due to the storms that hit the area last night.

The school said in a letter to parents that they are moving the students to West Potomac High School Thursday morning starting at 11 a.m.

The following is the letter sent to parents:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Find out what's happening in Greater Alexandriawith free, real-time updates from Patch.

We are without power at our school and, of course, that means no air conditioning in the building. Right now the building is still comfortable enough to occupy but with the temperatures rising, our plan is to move the students to West Potomac High School starting at 11 a.m.  The students will be assembled in the West Potomac cafeteria.  Today is an early release day at the high school so our staff and students will have the cafeteria space to themselves.   We are also making arrangements to provide lunch to the students.  Based on current information, it’s likely Belle View students will remain at West Potomac High School for the remainder of the school day.  Parents are free to come to West Potomac after 11 a.m. to pick up their child.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Belle View school office.  Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Tom Kuntz

Principal, Belle View Elementary
