The meeting is being held to gather input on Alexandria’s Waterfront Landscape and Flood Mitigation Design Project. A composite design for the Core Area extending from Duke to Queen Street will be shared at the meeting, for community input. Also up for discussion: Flood mitigation and common elements such as lighting, furnishings and materials, and there will be more discussion related to art and history.
You can find information here about the previous three meetings by clicking on the links:
- Presentation #1 (Evening with Laurie Olin - October 2013)
- Presentation #2 (Programming, Art, History and Lighting - November 2013)
- Presentation #3 (Design Options for the Core Waterfront Area - February 2014)
Also, the public can weigh in and find community input online associated with these presentations. Following Thursday's meeting, public meetings are scheduled with the Planning Commission and City Council on this project in April and June 2014.
