Coming Monday: Faces of Homelessness

Patch starts a four-part series on being homeless in one of the country's wealthiest counties.

Homelessness is a serious problem for many in Fairfax County, especially because housing is so expensive here.

Starting Monday, Patch will run a four-part series on homelessness in southern Fairfax County.

Fort Hunt Patch Editor Rachel Leonard spent the night at VIC-HOP, a winter shelter. She learned how resourceful homeless people need to be just to survive. She talked to women who were homeless but are getting back on their feet now thanks to the efforts of volunteers, church leaders and other community resources.
