Original Story

Fairfax County police responded to a report of another robbery at TD Bank in the 6600 block of Richmond Highway on the afternoon of Oct. 4. According to PIO Lucy Caldwell, police are investigating and checking the area for a possible suspect.

John Torre with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) said Quander Road School and West Potomac High School are in a secure the building status as police canvas the area around the schools as part of the investigation.

"Basically, that means the exterior doors are locked and students and staff inside can still move about inside," he said. No one will be allowed in or out of the two schools as the police investigation continues in the area.

Caldwell said it is too soon to confirm whether the suspect is the same man who has been named the "Beacon Hill Bandit." According to FCPD and the FBI Washington Field Office, the Beacon Hill Bandit has allegedly robbed the TD Bank on Richmond Highway five times between March 2010 and July 2013.

According to an FCPD news release, police have reason to believe the suspect in Friday's robbery at TD Bank is the Beacon Hill Bandit — the suspect in five previous robberies at the same location.

The suspect entered the bank around 12:30 p.m. and demanded money. The teller complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build wearing a gray shirt and dark pants.

The FBI is also involved in the investigation of the Beacon Hill Bandit.
