Police: Shots Fired, Attempted Entering in Alexandria Incidents

Helicopter, K-9 units respond to suspicious noise report.

The Fairfax County Police Department helicopter and K-9 units tried to locate a person who may have tried to break into a home on the 2500 block of Windbreak Drive Wednesday.

A resident called police shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday reporting a suspicious noise. A police investigation revealed that someone had tried to enter the home. Nothing was taken, and police have not located the suspect.

Also Wednesday, Fairfax County Police Department officers responded to a suspicious noise call in the 8300 block of Claremont Woods Drive shortly after 9:30 p.m. Police discovered that two bullets had struck a nearby home, and police are investigating.
