Police Report Peeping Incident in Mount Vernon District

The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Fairfax County police are investing an illegal peeping incident in the Hybla Valley area of the Mount Vernon District.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. July 29 in the 2700 block of Arlington Drive. According to police, a male resident of an apartment complex spotted another man looking into the window of a female neighbor’s apartment. The suspect left the scene before police could arrive.

“This is not the first time,” said police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell. “Apparently there have been several other reports involving a similar suspect.”

The man is described as white or Hispanic, between 20 and 30 years old and 160 pounds. He is between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts at the time of the incident.

A . A woman woke up at 4:30 a.m. to see a man staring in her window. The man was described as wearing light-colored clothing, with a light-color baseball cap.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

  • A burglary was reported at 7 p.m. July 27 in the 7000 block of Richmond Highway. The resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry and electronic equipment. Forced entry was made through the front door.
  • Police responded to a case of unlawful entry at 2:30 a.m. July 29 in the 7400 block of Vernon Square Drive. The owner of a vacant apartment reported a continuing issue of people breaking into the apartment. Police searched and found two people inside. Evelyn A. Paz, 19, of Alexandria and Jose L. Aguilar Rivera, 27, of Alexandria were arrested and charged with unlawful entry.
  • A bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 8200 block of Ackley Street.
  • A wallet was reported stolen from a business in the 2900 block of Arlington Drive.
  • Body wash and lotion were reported stolen from a business in the 1600 block of Belle View Boulevard.
  • A radio was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Belle Vista Drive.
  • A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 7000 block of Canterbury Lane.
  • A laptop computer and luggage were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 6300 block of Chimney Wood Court.
  • Tags were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 8600 block of Cotswold Court.
  • A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 7000 block of Coventry Road.
  • A carton of cigarettes was reported stolen from a business in the 7900 block of Fort Hunt Road.
  • A tool was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3000 block of Franklin Street.
  • Tools were reported stolen from a residence in the 3100 block of Franklin Street.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 2200 block of Huntington Avenue.
  • Beer was reported stolen from a business in the 2300 block of Huntington Avenue.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 9300 block of Old Mount Vernon Road.
  • Cash was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 7100 block of Marine Drive.
  • A laptop computer and clothes were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 8100 block of Norwood Drive.
  • A front tag was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 6500 block of Princeton Drive.
  • A laptop computer was reported stolen from a business in the 5800 block of Richmond Highway.
  • Groceries were reported stolen from a business in the 6200 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A diaper bag was reported stolen from a business in the 6300 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 6300 block of Richmond Highway.
  • Merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 8200 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A charger was reported stolen from a business in the 8600 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 8200 block of Russell Road.
  • A Toyota Camry was reported stolen from the 6200 block of North Kings Highway.
