Police: Man Robbed on Richmond Highway While Walking Home

The Fairfax County Police Department recently switched back from daily activity reports to weekly activity reports. The following information was supplied by FCPD in its recent weekly activity report released June 7. Arrests do not indicate a conviction

The following items are from the recent daily activity report from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Robbery (red on map), 11:05 p.m., June 1, 8400 block of Richmond Highway, A 30-year-old man reported he was robbed while walking home. He was approached by two unknown Hispanic men who assaulted him and stole his wallet. He received minor injuries. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in searching for the suspects who were not located.

Burglary (blue on map), 2:30 a.m., May 30, 2300 block of Nordok Place, Officers, to include the helicopter and a K-9 team, responded for an alarm at the school. Forced entry was made through a door and electronic devices were stolen. No suspect was located.

Burglary (blue on map), 5:20 p.m., May 31, 6000 block of Richmond Highway, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole an electronic device. There were no signs of forced entry.

Robbery (red on map), 10 p.m., May 31, 3800 block of Segundo Place, A 36-year-old woman reported she was robbed while walking to her vehicle. She was approached by two unknown black men who assaulted her and stole her purse. She received minor injuries. The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in searching for the suspects who were not located.

Peeping/Larceny (green on map), 1:55 a.m., June 2, 7700 block of Eagle Avenue, A neighbor reported someone was looking into the home and stole beer that was on the patio. The suspect was not located.

Burglary (blue on map), 11:15 a.m., June 2, 6300 block of South Kings Highway, An employee reported that someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through the front door.

DWI/Pursuit (yellow on map), 11:10 p.m., June 2, 2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue, An officer initiated a traffic stop for a minor offense in the area of Fairhaven Avenue and Richmond Highway. The vehicle continued on Richmond Highway, made several turns, and eventually stopped in the 2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue. The driver, Yanira Navarrete, 24, of Alexandria, was charged with DWI, refusal, and driving while revoked.

  • 7900 block of San Leandro Place, jewelry from residence
  • 6700 block of Tower Drive, electronic device from business
  • 7700 block of White Heron Trail, cell phone from school
