Police: Burglary, Sexual Assault Reported

The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Fairfax County police have reported a burglary, a sexual assault and an unlawful entry incident in the Mount Vernon Police District.

The burglary was reported at 6:50 a.m. July 24 in the 100 block of Old Richmond Highway. An employee told police someone entered the business and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

Police also reported a July 22 in the Belle Haven community. The victim was not injured.

Also, police received a report of an unlawful entry July 23 in the 7700 block of Condor Court. A property manager told police someone entered a vacant home through a winsow. It was unclear if any damage was done or anything taken.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

  • Cash and medication were stolen from a residence in the 3400 block of Audubon Avenue.
  • A revolver was stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Beechcraft Drive.
  • A television was stolen from a residence in the 8600 block of Beekman Place.
  • A purse was stolen from a business in the 5800 block of Cameron Run Terrace.
  • A identification card was stolen from a vehicle in the 7400 block of Convair Drive.
  • Mail was stolen from a residence in the 8200 block of Frye Road.
  • Personal documents were stolen from a residence in the 8000 block of Holland Road.
  • Tags were stolen from a vehicle in the 4900 block of Keeler Court.
  • A laptop computer and a cell phone were stolen from a residence in the 7900 block of Martha Washington Street.
  • Bottled water was stolen from a business in the 2500 block of Parkers Lane.
  • A GPS device was stolen from a vehicle in the 4400 block of Pembrook Village Drive.
  • A wallet was stolen from a residence in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A carton of cigarettes was stolen from a business in the 6700 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A electronic device was stolen from a business in the 7700 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A wig was stolen from a business in the 7800 block of Richmond Highway.
  • A Toyota Camry was stolen from the 6400 block of 14th Street E.
  • A 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stolen from the 7200 block of Fairchild Drive.
  • A 2002 Chrysler Town and Country was stolen from the 2600 block of Huntington Avenue.
  • A 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse was stolen from the 3800 block of Laramie Place.
  • A 2011 Honda Civic was stolen from the 7400 block of Mount Vernon Square Center.
  • A 2005 Ford Mustang was stolen from the 1800 block of Old Richmond Highway.
  • A 2012 Toyota Camry was stolen from the 6700 block of Tower Drive.

The crime rate in our area is getting bad and this is not going to help our community profile or real estate reputation. It would help if there were visible presence of police or a crime watch system through Mt. Vernon Manor when there are cars running the Gateshead stop signs and slow drive bys during the day scoping out houses..... Being home I have noticed a increase of non-neighbor persons walking, riding bikes or driving thru...
