Police: Alexandria Man Assaulted, Robbed at Gunpoint

The latest daily activity report provided by the Fairfax County Police Department on Oct 10. Mentioned arrests do not indicate convictions.

The following are incidents reported in the Mount Vernon District according to the Fairfax County Police's daily activity report, released Thursday.

Robbery (red on map), Police responded to a call about a robbery in the Hybla Valley area around 9:50 p.m. Oct. 8. A 54-year-old man was walking in the 7400 block of Vernon Square Drive when three men approached him. One of the three suspects displayed a gun and assaulted the victim, according to police reports. 

The suspects took cash from the victim and then fled on bicycles. The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury. The suspects were described as Hispanic, 16 to 20, and wearing black ski masks.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

Burglary (blue on map), Oct. 9, 7000 block of Elba Road, A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property. Forced entry was made through a window.

Larcenies (green on map):

  • 8800 block of Black Alder Drive, tools from vehicle
  • 7900 block of Richmond Highway, license plate from vehicle
No vehicles were reported stolen at the time.
