UPDATE: Teens To Be Charged For Break-ins At Area Churches, Stores

Fairfax County police helicopter assisted officers early Monday morning after reports of two area church burglaries

Police believe they've identified the teens involved in a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries over the past few weeks, according to Fairfax County Police Department spokesperson Lucy Caldwell.

Detectives anticipate charging four juveniles and one adult, 19-year-old Rachel Forbes of Burke, Va. Charges include destruction of property, larceny and burglary.

In addition to the two churches reported earlier, Caldwell said detectives believe the group is responsible for the attempted burglaries at the and .

Police are investigating two apparent burglaries at area churches from over the weekend.

Police responded to a report of a break-in at  in Fort Hunt on Monday at around 12:30 a.m. The county police's helicopter assisted officers on the ground. 

There was also a report of a burglary at  on Popkins Lane. 

"Some juveniles were arrested," according to Fairfax County Police Department spokesperson Lucy Caldwell. "But we believe there are some who fled and got away. Hence the helicopter."

Caldwell said police are looking into whether the juveniles involved in the apparent church burglaries were also involved in incidents in the Hollin Hall neighborhood.

"Our detectives are investigating whether or not the suspects in the case may have been involved in other burglaries and vehicle tamperings in the Hollin Hall area over the past month."
