Alexandria Man Arrested for Assault on a Family Member, Strangulation

The following are incidents reported in the Mount Vernon District according to the Fairfax County Police's daily activity report, released Wednesday.
Domestic Violence (red on map), Around 7:37 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of domestic violence in the 8000 block of Janna Lee Avenue.
When officers arrived, the developed information that the suspect had fled to a residence in the 3800 block of Tiburon Place. When police arrived at the address, the suspect refused to exit the residence and multiple police units deployed before entering the residence to affect the arrest.
Damien Nathaniel Myrick, 27, was charged with assault on a family member, strangulation, violating a protective order and preventing summoning of police.
In separate and unrelated incidents:
Burglary (blue on map), Oct. 8, 6100 block of North Kings Highway, Employees reported someone entered two businesses and took property.
No larcenies or stolen vehicles were reported at this time.
