Alexandria Drivers Among Nation’s Worst

Allstate Insurance Co. lists Washington, Arlington and Alexandria drivers as among worst in country.

Alexandria drivers are among some of the nation’s worst, according to a new report by Allstate Insurance Co.

Washington, D.C., came in highest out of 195 cities in crash frequency, and Baltimore was second. Alexandria was ranked 189, in seventh place, with a relative accident likelihood of 62.6 percent above the national average.

In 12th place was Arlington, ranked at 184, with a relative accident likelihood 53 percent above the national average.

The honor of “America’s Safest Driving City" is Sioux Falls, S.D., the fifth time in the history of the report that the city has held the top spot.

"Allstate's Best Driver's Report was created to boost the country's discussion on safe driving. Each year we hope the report will increase awareness about the importance of being tolerant and attentive behind the wheel," said Mike Roche, senior vice president of claims for Allstate, in a news release.
