Community member says Congressman Moran fights for the Mount Vernon District.

To Whom It May Concern,

As someone who is active in the community and the Democratic candidate for Delegate from Virginia’s 42nd district in last year’s election, I offer my enthusiastic endorsement of Congressman Jim Moran in the Democratic Primary on June 12.

In his many years of public service, Congressman Moran has shown that he shares our values and fights for our community. As a senior member of the Defense Appropriation Sub-Committee, he is in a unique position to help our community thrive. He secured $180 million to widen Route 1 through Fort Belvoir and mitigate traffic cause by BRAC relocations. It was Congressman Moran’s fast action in securing $20 million in additional funding for improvements to the area around the Mark Center that staved off a potentially nightmarish traffic situation

Always a friend of federal workers, Congressman Moran knows that the economic stability of Northern Virginia is tied to the health of our Federal Workforce and the private businesses that flock to do business here.

As a progressive champion Congressman Moran has been recognized many times for his work in advocacy for human rights, the abolishment of animal cruelty and as an environmental steward.  He understands that in an economic downturn it is the worst time to cut the social safety net on our hard working Americans.   He is one of Congress’ fiercest warriors against Tea Party extremism.

As a result of congressional redistricting many more citizens in Southern Fairfax County are now part of the 8th Congressional District.  If you vote at Waynewood Elementary, Stratford Landing Elementary, Washington Mill Elementary, Gunston Elementary, Lorton Library, Lorton Station Elementary, Grace Bible Church, Saratoga Elementary, Woodley Hills Elementary or Riverside Elementary, you are now in the 8th district.

I urge you to get out and vote for Congressman Moran on June 12.

Come on people. If you are new to Morans district do some research on his lack of ethics (Insider trading on inside information on the economic collapse in 2008) and making his friends rich for campaign donationas (PMA anyone?) --- And if he does so much, how come it took 7 years+ to get any money for BRAC. He is ineffective, unethical, Antisemitic, and a complete A hole to boot. Time to retire this guy!

I don't understand how your comments are in any way helpful to any meaningful discussion. Name-calling is just poor behavior. If you have something to say, include some actual facts rather than just your opinion. And you know what they say about opinions.

Fact --- Jim Moran left a private members meeting with Sec. Paulson where he laid out the deep financial issues and trouble that was ahead (BEFORE the MARKET CRASH) --- and THEN went and sold 90+ stocks the next day -- to avoid the market chrash that came. If he was a memebr of a corporation and not congress he would be in prison, b/c it is insider trading -- Congress did not have a law then so he skates....

FACT - Jim Moron took hundreds of thousands of political donation dollars from PMA employees -- and turned around and gave them tens of millions in earmarked funds. The same PMA that was indicted for pay to play. Specifically Moran helped direct $137 million in earmarks to PMA's clients. PMA's and their clients donated $997,348 to Moran over the past ten years. Again not name calling, but facts are tough to avoid. He is unethical at best, and should be in jail. Time to go.

Tea Party "extremism" came into being to combat the far left "progressive" extremism. Let's get back to our Constitution and shrink our federal government back to what it was meant to be. It's because Moran is a "friend of federal workers" that we shouldn't vote for him. Public service employees should not be unionized. The federal government is overblown, inefficient, overcompensated, overprotected, and is drowning in a sea of never-ending regulations. Progressives love this. The tea party wants to get the government back to working for us. The progressives want complete federal government control of every single thing we do and think.
