Big Corporation is pushing out a Small Local Business

Bagel Bakery in the Bradlee Shopping Center on King St in Alexandria has been given 30 days to vacate the space in order for Rite Aid to expand. Bagel Bakery, a local favorite has been at Bradlee for over 25 years. The employees have opened the store during snow storms and when the surrounding neighborhoods had power outages. Several of the employees have been there since the store opened. We do not need a bigger Rite Aid but we do need a place where people can gather with friends and enjoy a reasonably priced meal. Please bring this story to a larger audience and maybe we can save a local hang out. Give the property owner a call and ask them to keep Bagel Bakery open. The shopping center is owned by W.R.I.T. 301 984 9400

Another case of the "almighty DOLLAR"!! The shopping center management is always going to the cash NOT towards what's best for their customers! One could guess that Rite Aid's cash flow will not increase with the added floor space especially if the locals do not shop there as a in-your-face revolt!!
