BOATER EDUCATION IS REQUIRED BY LAW

THE ABOUT BOATING SAFELY COURSE IS PRESENTED BY MEMBERS OF COAST GUARD AUXILIARY FLOTILLA 25-8, WHO HAVE YEARS OF SAIL AND POWERBOAT EXPERIENCE.  

This beginner boating class will give you the knowledge needed to meet the boat license or safety certification requirements in all states. Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete About Boating Safely.

The instructors include a retired Coast Guard Captain, river, bay and ocean sailors and licensed Merchant Marine Officers with decades of boating experience.

Students receive a textbook, laminated wallet card, certificate, free membership in BoatUS, discount coupon for West Marine safety supplies, and a number of safety related Coast Guard reference materials….and shared experiences.  Fee: $40.00 ($60.00 for two sharing the text)

Classes are scheduled in Alexandria, VA at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 8592 Richmond Hwy,  on  Apr 19,  May 17, Jun 21, and Jul 12.
