LGBT Democrats Endorse Capt. Stacey Kincaid for Sheriff

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The LGBT Democrats of Virginia PAC unanimously endorsed Capt. Stacey Kincaid for Fairfax County sheriff, according to a recent news release.

“We greatly appreciate all Capt. Kincaid’s support in the fight for equality,” said Brad Hodgson, PAC President, LGBT Democrats of Virginia. “We look forward to working with her every day to bring full equality to our great Commonwealth.”

Kincaid is a 26-year-veteran of the Fairfax Sheriff’s Office, and she has received its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award.

“I’m very honored to have this important endorsement,” Kincaid said. “Diversity is as important to me as it is to the citizens I will serve as Fairfax Sheriff. I am deeply committed to equal protection of the rights of all members of our community.”

Kincaid is going up against Bryan A. " B.A." WolfeChristopher F. DeCarlo and Robert A. Rivera. If she is voted sheriff for the county during elections on Nov. 5, she will be the first woman to serve as Fairfax Sheriff.

According to the news release, Kincaid has also been endorsed public safety unions, state senators and delegates, members of the Fairfax County School Board, and the Virginia Women’s Democratic Caucus.
