Travis Bowman Gives Historic Re-Enactment at Collingwood Museum

Bowman is a historic interpreter and author.

The Wellington and Tauxemont Civic Associations’ Fall Picnic and Program hosted special guest Travis Bowman at the Collingwood Library and Museum on Sunday.

Bowman, a sixth generation decendant of Peter Francisco, a slave who fought in Washington's Continental Army, told Peter's story through a dramatic impersonation.

"Known as the 'Hercules of the Revolution,' Francisco became famous throughout the Colonies for his extraordinary strength, bravery and courage on the battlefield.  He is credited with preventing the loss of two crucial battles," read a release issued by the Collingwood Museum.
