Fort Hunt Teen Wins Miss American Teenager Jr. Queen Pageant

Lauren Watson won the title of Miss American Teenager Jr. Queen.

Carl Sandburg Middle School student Lauren Watson recently won the title of Miss American Teenager Jr. Queen at the National Pageant this Thanksgiving weekend. 

Watson, an eighth-grader, was selected to represent Virginia as Miss Virginia American Teenager Jr. Queen. She competed in three categories: personal interview, swimsuit and evening wear. She also competed in the State Costume category, where she wore a sailor outfit representing the Department of Defense, Virginia's largest employer. Her platform was Nutrition and Fitness Awareness.

Watson is the captain of the Sandburg Dance Team and dances with the Metropolitan Fine Arts Center. She helps out with the dance team workshops and is active in her church youth group. She has also danced with the Joffrey Ballet School and the Radio City Rockettes.
