1. Dine at Chevys in Hybla Valley any time today and 15 percent of what you pay will be donated to United Community Ministries.
2. The  is meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Governmental Center.
3. The Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance is holding a "What You Need to Know About Transportation" forum on September 28 in McLean. Tickets can be purchased online.
4. A free SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention program workshop will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on October 27. Space is limited and registration is available online.
5. On this day in 1969, the "Scooby-Doo" animated television series debuted on CBS.
6. Today is National Celiac Disease Awareness Day.
