FALL CLASSES BEGIN SEPT. 8 AT METROPOLITAN SCHOOL OF THE ARTS STUDIOS

Whether you’re into tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop or theatre, Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) studios’ fall curriculum provides a variety of classes for all ages, with classes beginning on Mon., Sept. 8. Renowned for its holistic teaching approach, positive reinforcement style and world-class instructors, the studios offer beginner and advanced instruction at their Alexandria and Lorton, Va. locations. Registration is available online at www.metropolitanarts.org.

Classes include: ballet, Pointe, hip-hop, jazz, Irish dance, contemporary, combination classes of tap/ballet or jazz/tap; musical theater, acting, as well as piano and guitar lessons.

“From our youngest students at age 3 to our teenagers and adults, our classes allow students to explore their  artistic talents and skills,” said Melissa Dobbs, president of Metropolitan School of the Arts of Lorton, Va. and Alexandria, Va. “Our instructors teach technique and style, but also emphasize empowerment and creativity,” said Dobbs.

Founder and president, Melissa Dobbs, was classically trained at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, George Mason University and the Royal Academy of Dance in London, where she became a registered teacher. Noted for its world-class instructors, MSA offers high quality performing arts training in a ground breaking, holistic learning environment that cultivates creativity, builds community and empowers students.
