The store is expected to open by next summer.

The construction work on the Mount Vernon Costco Wholesale store at Richmond Highway and Buckman Road is progressing along as scheduled, officials say.

Site prep work is progressing and the store is expected to open in May 2013, according to SFDC Marketing and Communications Director David Ben.

The store will be located at the former site of the Mount Vernon Multiplex, which was demolished last spring.
