Penn Daw Redevelopment Given Green Light by Fairfax County Board

The remodeled shopping area will feature apartments and retail businesses.

Earlier this week, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to support the planned redevelopment of Penn Daw Plaza. 

According to the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC) website, the 50-year old shopping center will be replaced with a mixed-use development comprised of 490 apartments and 45,500 square feet of ground level retail. 

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2015 and will require nearly two years to build.
